Local Mission Trip 2023

In the morning we went to the preschool, where we helped with the kids. We passed out plates of breakfast and lunch. We also played with them outside during recess and helped them with a project for St. Patrick's Day.

In the afternoon we went to Victory Church where we painted curbs and a fence. We had a great time working and volunteering. Our chaperones were great.

Freshmen Mission Trip 2023

We woke up this morning and we were all pretty sluggish and we’re basically falling asleep. We cooked oatmeal and eggs and homemade cheese. After we ate and did cleanup, we then went to work straight away. The rest of the day was spent team building, gardening, and helping with the animals. It was a lot of hard work, but everyone is having a great time!

Sophomore Mission trip 2023

COLD!! That's how today was! So cold that when we were at The Oaks Retreat Center doing our missions work, the fog was freezing on the mountains around us. It was a really cool experience to watch. Our missions work today was hard and we had some stories and things we did that really impacted many of us. We worked really hard and even though we went into the day not wanting to do it, we felt really good at the end knowing we made such a huge impact on this center. Tomorrow we stay at Longview and do a Workday here and then it's PAINTBALL!!! Oh, and did we mention tomorrow is going to be EVEN COLDER THAN TODAY!!!

Freshmen Mission Trip 2023

Yesterday we arrived at the Heart Institute and it was kinda hot. We had lunch and then immediately got to work in our groups. After the break, we went back to work and then had dinner, showers, praise and worship, and finally devotions. Once we all broke up, we met up again at 9:45 and played manhunt.

Sophomores Mission Trip 2023

Day 3
Since it is Sunday today was our "no work" day. We got up to lots of rain and reaaally cold temps and headed to church in town. After church, we went to lunch, Walmart, and then hiked Margarite Falls. The rain held out just long enough for us to complete our hike, praise the Lord! The falls were beautiful and almost half of us went swimming, even though it was so cold. When we got back to Longview, we had dinner and free time. It was a very restful and fun day.

Today we went to church and enjoyed our last day of VBS with the kids. In the evening, we played a class bonding game and spent the rest of our time in the snow.

Juniors Mission Trip 2023

Saturday was our first day of VBS! it was so much fun! We did crafts, science, music, games, and a puppet show with the kids. It was a great day full of serving the Lord and teaching kids about the the Lord and his word!

Senior Mission Trip 2023

Day 4
We divided and went to two churches this morning. Half of us went to Linda Vista, a small church in a village outside of San Ramon. Here Jake and Mia both shared testimonies with this church. Wow, they did an awesome job. Some of our Spanish-speaking students, Estaban, Jo Jo, Vivian and Mateo, assisted with Sunday school. The other half visited Iglesia Baustita el Calvario, where Ronald our interpreter came in clutch.  he pastor spoke on Romans 1:21-26, challenging the people that knowing God is not enough. We need to think about God before ourselves. Such a relevant passage for our current climate and culture. This church is in downtown San Ramon, with two services with over 100 people in each service.

This afternoon we had the construction crew join groups to serve VBS in the community. They are truly being the hands and feet.

We are excited for worship led by Ricky and to hear a challenge from the word from Pastor Albert tonight. And a good nights sleep.

Day 3
The construction team made progress on the septic tank as the the other three groups served putting on VBS  for the children in San Ramon at 6 different sites. Pastor Albert challenged the students after worship to truly decide how they want to be remembered for by their classmates beyond sports and academics. Who will you represent?  Ephesians 5:2 we will either be remembered as a fine fragrance or filthy garbage.
