Church in the Dirt!

Posted by: Aileen
Hey everyone! Today was an amazing and tiring day. We woke up at 7:30 and had a meeting before going to La Carpio. When we got to La Carpio we did a lot of construction work. We tore down a wall, moved 3, 5-ft tall piles of dirt and rocks. Others picked up random piles of trash. It was very hard but it brought us together as a class. After the construction, we had an amazing lunch provided by the church in La Carpio. After lunch, we went to the smaller church in La Carpio and did arts and crafts with the younger kids. Games ranged from coloring to face painting to blocks and bubbles. We had a lot of fun getting to know the "La Carpioans". the language barrier was tough but we managed to get through it and build friendships. After that, we came home, stopped by the am/pm store, had dinner which was chicken and beef, and of course, black beans and rice. We then ended the night with devotions done by Joey and Shaye. We are all very exhausted and looking forward to a full day of white water rafting tomorrow!

Prayer Requests: Sore muscles, and for the La Carpio church that God will provide what they need for their ministry to grow. In addition, safety for white water rafting and the rest of the week.

Seniors, I printed out your group picture and I'm praying for you each by name. May God do amazing things in and through you this week.

Have a GREAT time white water rafting! Faith, don't worry...I'm sure it's much safer than, say, jumping out of an airplane.

How did it go with handing out the donated items to the refugees? Did you have enough? Did everything get there okay? Continuing to pray! Love, Mrs. Lynch P.S. Girls, rumor has it that the white water rafting guides are really cute, so don't fall for any of them and decide to stay over there! :)

Okay, so after I commented, I looked at the senior pics and answered my own questions! Duh! :) Mrs. Lynch Joel - I still want to know what these crazy letters are for that you have to type in when writing a comment?!?!?!

Mrs. Lynch-I commented this under your questions about the letters on the last post but here it is again: Advertisers have figured out how to place their ads as comments on other people's blogs. Their computers do this by running something called a script so it is not manually done. The computer is unable to recognize the wacky letters because it must be done by a real person. This in turn keeps our comments from being spamed.

It looks like you are having an amazing time together! I love the pictures and videos. I liked the creativity in the Leche Man photo. Looks like you are making a difference in the lives of those little ones. How did the egg hunt go? Were you able to share the Resurrection Eggs with the children? It is super quiet without you! It must have been strange here years ago when there was only one or two classes. I miss you guys! We are praying for you everyday. Looking forward to seeing all the pics in Chapel when you return.HAVE FUN!!!!

There is a one-story house. Everything in it is blue. What color is the oven? What color is the telephone? What color is the toilet? What color is the staircase?

The answer to the blue joke is that there is not a staircase in a one story house.

So Faith, which is better... jumping out of a plane or white water rafting? My vote off the cuff is white water rafting. Although Mrs. Wilson, I have a feeling the jumping out of a plane is statistically safer, but I don't know for sure. Junkyard Dog, what do you think? Jump out of a plane over White Water Rafting?
Mr. Smith, I'm glad to see you've joined in on the fun.
It's very quiet around the school. Can't wait to see all the pictures and hear all the stories when you get back. I have to tell you that I feel much more connected to the trip with the blogging. Thanks Mrs. Wilson for setting this up! TTYL.

Well, while you guys were home having a blog kind of life, I was wishing I was home. Instead I was up in WPB doing a concert. Thanks for giving me some laughs to wind down when I got home.
Mrs. Lynch, I agree with the Christmas kind of thing every time you get on. What does this say about our Christmas?
I do believe that Meg & Gab DEFINATELY are the most prolific bloggers I have ever seen! What kind of award can we give them? I don't know if it really fits into the annual theme award of being a good steward.
When all is said and done, maybe we can get a life square footing.
Gab, I can't believe you were posing as Mr. Smith. You really DO need to get a life! Ha ha ha.

Well I have a simple solution to our possible withdrawal problem that will be subsequent to the mission trips ending...
WOOO HOOOO! Doesn't that sound GREAT!! C'mon Mrs. Lynch everyone would love it! Don't ya'll think??
