So its the first full day of work and everyone was pumped up and ready to go! It was a little cold outside, but everyone had a great attitude about it. We had a filling breakfast of biscuits and cereal. There was a time for the devotions and we found out what we were going to be doing today. We were going to be collecting wood for the families in need of it in the winter to heat there homes. When we got to the site that we would be working on, we met the pastor of the church Disciples Point, Pastor Tootie. He explained some more on how much we were helping these needy families and that we would be working with a group from the local wood ministry project. While Mr. White and Mr. Hood used chain saws with some othera adults, all of the us loaded tons of firewood into trailers and a huge army truck. For lunch, we had hamburgers and hot dogs made by Pastor Tootie, then we all played at the park. We had a swing contest and a football match. It gave us all the energy needed to finish the day strong. Mr. Ron Wood who helps organize this project every year, said that we helped load possibly the most wood ever! It was a wonderful way to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the people of this area.
When we got back to camp, many of us went to sleep, while others enjoyed hiking the trails of Long View Ranch. For dinner we had a delicious Thanksgiving like dinner and cake. That's their way of rewarding us for all the hard work.
